RESOLUTIONS
WHEREAS,
the Town Board of the Town of Wallkill desires that decisions
of the Town Planning Board are made free of conflicts of interest;
and
WHEREAS,
the Town Board of the Town of Wallkill desires that a full quorum
of Town Planning Board members be available to make decisions
within the Planning Board’s purview, even when a member
of said Board is unable to participate because of conflict of
interest; and
WHEREAS,
New York State Town Law provides for the appointment of alternate
members of a Planning Board in anticipation of such circumstances,
NOW,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that said Town Board, in accordance
with New York State Law §271.15, hereby establishes two alternate
Planning Board member positions for purposes of substituting for
a member or members in the event such member is unable to participate
in the decision-making process because of a conflict of interest;
and
RESOLVED,
that alternate members of the Planning Board hereinafter appointed
shall serve for a term of two years; and §271 relating to Planning
Board member training and continuing education, attendance, conflict
of interest, compensation, eligibility, vacancy of office, removal,
and service on other boards, and all provisions of Wallkill Town
Code §249-35 shall also apply to alternate members.
