From: Time Warner Cable
Time
Warner Cable has had a long-standing commitment to support
educational excellence. As a founding member of Cable in the
Classroom we began more than a decade ago to provide cable
connections and basic cable
service to schools, delivering more than 525 hours each month
of commercial-free, high quality
educational programming. As technology advanced we included
high-speed cable modems and the Road
Runner Internet service as part of our education commitment,
all of which has been
made possible at no charge to schools.
But
technology alone cannot take the place of a dedicated classroom
teacher whose enthusiasm and creativity motivates students
to reach new learning heights.
For
that reason I am pleased to announce our 15th annual Time
Warner Cable National Teacher Awards. Twenty projects, based
on innovative use off cable television programming and/or
technology in the classroom,
will be chosen from entries submitted from schools in Time
Warner Cable divisions around the country.
I have enclosed an entry form that explains the competition
in detail for your information.
We hope to generate entries from Town of Wallkill and perhaps
even a national winner. Whether or not that happens, however,
the Awards give us a chance to acknowledge and encourage those
model teachers who are preparing our students for their future.
I
will be happy to keep you informed as the contest progresses
and will gladly answer any questions you might have.
SUPERVISOR WARD: Will forward to all schools.
SUPERVISOR WARD: We have a letter from the Goshen Humane Society
asking us to read a Resolution to create a National Spay

animal control
programs aimed at coping with the millions of unwanted cats
and dogs; and

spaying and neutering cats and dogs has been shown to drastically
reduce cat and dog overpopulation; and
