The Raffaello Lodge #2661 of the Order Sons of Italy in America is seeking permission from the Town of Wallkill to have an Italian Fest, which we would like to have for May 13, 2004 and will run until May 16, 2004. We are planning to have the fest at the Stop & Shop located on Route 211. The hours of operation will be Thursday and Friday May 13 & 14 from 6 PM to 11 PM, Saturday May 15 from 12 noon to 11 PM and Sunday May 16 from 12 noon to 8 PM.

The Raffaello Lodge has already received permission from Stop & Shop to hold the Fest in the Southeast area of their parking lot where it would not interfere with business or traffic.

We are planning to have 8-10 rides and 3-5 vendors within the 40,000 square feet that Stop & Shop has given permission to use. The vendors and the rides have been cleared by the Board of Health and all permits required by the State of New York, if the Town of Wallkill requires any further permits please inform us and we will be happy to comply.

COUNCILMAN DEPEW: Explained he supports alternate energy sources but will not support resolution. Asked Board to look at hydro-electric power and wind power at next meeting.

COUNCILMAN MULQUEEN: Explained spending over and above utility not good idea - would rather see money spent to conserve energy.

COUNCILMAN VALENTIN: Thanked Councilman Mulqueen for doing research but will not save the Town money. Thanked Supervisor Ward for trying to do something different in how energy is used.
