GreenwayAt the June 12, 2002 Board meeting of the Hudson River
Valley Greenway, a resolution was passed unanimously, welcoming
the Town of Wallkill to the Greenway.Enclosed is a packet of information
about the Greenway as well as funding guidelines and an application.
Please feel free to contact myself or one of the Greenway Planners
if you have any questions or need assistance. In the meantime,

Elmes, Blue Sky Polo ClubOn September 8, 2002, the Elant Foundation,
formerly the Arden Hill Senior Health System Foundation, would
like to run a polo benefit to honor George W. Kohl. This will
be an upscale affair with a luncheon and polo match starting at
1PM and ending around 5PM. The proceeds will go to the Elant
Foundation. The luncheon will be under tents and members of the
Blue Sky Polo Club will put on the match for the public. In years
past I have done such affairs at my former polo club, and they
turned out to be a tremendous benefit for various organizations
in the community such as Valley Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital,
The Kids of Bergen County, Tomorrows Children, and others, and
we raised from $35,000.00 to as much as $80,000.00 at a single
match. The polo benefits became a much anticipated afternoon
event for many people in the surrounding community as well as
people from around the tri-state area. This is a way for the
Blue Sky Polo Club to give back to the community as well as giving
the club members an audience to cheer them on. I would like to
invite all of you to bring a picnic and attend any of our matches.
For the past 8 years generally we are playing on Sundays, and
you can learn of the schedule by calling 845-692-5918. We have
a United States Polo Association Tournament starting June 25th
and culminating on July 7th with the finals. Call
the above number or Chuck Elmes at XXX-XXXX, and I will be happy
to give you more information.MOTION BY: Mr. Ward SECONDED BY:

TO:
John Ward, Supervisor & Town Board MembersFROM: Jay Anthony,
Town of Wallkill Soccer ClubAs mentioned in previous memos, the
Town of Wallkill Soccer Club will be hosting a 2-day Soccer Tournament
at the Circleville Park on the weekend of July 20 and 21. We
will have approximately 35-40 teams in town that weekend which
translates to about 1500 people watching some of the top-level
youth soccer teams participate throughout the weekend. Teams
from NJ, Conn., PA and Mass. As well as from NY will be competing
(including our Club travel teams). Since this will be in the middle
of our Park season, the Club will provide 6 port-a-potties located
near the ball fields to avoid any problems. We also think the
Town should post another Security person to offset the large crowd
that will be generated from the Tournament. We’ve set up alliances
with the local establishments, in fact most local hotels are booked
and we’ve notified the area’s attractions (Galleria Mall, restaurants,
etc…) of the added growth of the Town for that weekend. We’ve
garnered some sponsorship support for the tourney and will hang
banners to signify those who’ve supported this big event. We’d
also like to post a Town of Wallkill banner and/or sign, is this
possible? If so, just point me in the direction of the person
I need to speak to.Lastly, we’d like to set up a follow-up meeting
with the Town Board to discuss the feasibility and cost of creating
additional fields at the Park. We’ve gained momentum from the
local labor unions who would ‘volunteer’ their support to work
with us to achieve this goal. Thanks again for all your past
and future support!

Town BoardFROM: Charles Romer, Shop FormanRE: Sale of Surplus
EquipmentYour authorization is hereby requested to sell Truck
#146, a 1985 Paystar 5000 tandem axle dump truck with plow, wing
and sander to the Town of Tusten in Sullivan County. The Town
of Tusten has offered to pay $8,000.00 for the truck. I have
discussed the value of this truck with two (2) International dealers
(Arkel Motors and A&M Truck Center), and both agree that the
fair market value of the vehicle is between $6,000.00 and $10,000.00.
I feel that the offer of $8,000.00 is fair and will likely exceed
any bid we would receive through an advertised sale process.Thank
you for your consideration of my request, and if you have any
questions, please feel free to give me a call.MOTION BY: Mr. Ward
