The Town Board of the Town of Wallkill held a special meeting
on Wednesday, July 31, 2002 at 9:00 A.M. at the Town Hall, 600
Route 211 East. Board members present were Supervisor Ward, Councilman
Depew and Councilman McLean. Also present were Jeanne Gervasi,
Town Clerk and Spencer McLaughlin, Attorney for the Town.
Supervisor
Ward: This is a special meeting authorizing the Town Supervisor
to enter into a memorandum of understanding between the Town of
Wallkill and J.M. Mullis, Inc. for the purpose of constructing
a Wal-Mart Distribution Center.
Resolution:
Supervisor
Ward: WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Wallkill is desirous
of taking full advantage of all economic development opportunities
that will result in tax-ratable, environmentally smart commercial
growth within the Town; and
WHEREAS,
the Town Board of the Town of Wallkill has examined the draft
Memorandum of Understanding and believe collectively that said
memorandum is in the best interests of the Town of Wallkill,
NOW
THEREFORE IT IS RESOLVED; that the Town Board of the Town of
Wallkill hereby authorizes the Town Supervisor to enter into a
Memorandum of Understanding with J.M. Mullis, Inc., for the purpose
of constructing a Wal-Mart distribution center in the Town of
Wallkill as in the best interests of the Town of Wallkill.
