The Town of Wallkill Zoning Dept regulates both commercial and residential projects being presented to the Town of Wallkill. Regulating structures, building sizes, uses, and interpretations. The Zoning Board grants variances to relief or approve certain projects abiding by the Town of Wallkill Zoning Code. The Zoning Board works to make sure that the rich authentic character of the Town of Wallkill remains intact.
Land use is regulated in the Town of Wallkill according to the Zoning Law which was enacted December 1975. The Planning Board consists of seven members and holds regular meeting on the first and third Wednesdays at 7:30 P.M.
The Zoning Board of Appeals consists of seven members and meets the second Monday of the month at 7:30 P.M.

TOWN OF WALLKILL
ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS (ZBA)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Town of Wallkill, New York on Monday, July 13, 2020 at 7:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as can be heard on said date.
Due to public health and safety concerns related to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the ZBA will NOT be meeting in person. In accordance with the Governor’s Executive Orders 202.1 and 202.15 and subsequent orders extending the same, the July 13, 2020 ZBA public hearing will be held remotely via video conferencing and telephone conference call; and a transcript will be available at a later date. The public WILL have the opportunity to hear the meeting live and provide comments.
The ZBA application to be heard is by Mariusz Kurylo for a variance from §249-19.1.E(1) of the Town’s Zoning Code (the “Code”) to allow a permitted use on a lot that is only approximately one quarter of an acre, when the Code requires a minimum of five (5) acres. The applicant is proposing an agricultural use and wants to grow crops and orchards as well as construct an accessory equipment shed and greenhouse. The property is situated at Section 46, Block 1, Lot(s) 19 & 20 in the Town of Wallkill with an address of 98-102 O’Haire Road and is located in the RA-1 Low Density Agricultural District.
The Zoning Board of Appeals will consider all verbal and/or written statements from all persons interested in the proposed variance in the various manners described above. The Zoning Board of Appeals will also consider such further relief as it finds necessary.
